Ashok Leyland has launched its new vehicle ‘STILE’ developed by a joint venture with Nissan Motor Company. The car was first introduced at the 2012 Auto Expo. The car shares its platform with Evalia and will roll out of the same manufacturing plant as well.
The 7-8 seater Multi Utility Vehicle (MPV) is powered by the K9K engine which churns out the maximum power of 75bhp. The CNG variant of the car and the diesel engine will be available in second and third rows seating options.
Dheeraj G Hinduja, Chairman, Ashok Leyland said, “With Stile, Ashok Leyland is entering into a new vehicle segment and our confidence with Stile stems from our confidence in the strength of our combined teams in Nissan and Ashok Leyland. Also, we will have a third product named 'Partner' in the 4-6 tonne category. These will complete our range of commercial vehicles from the light to heavy and medium segments. As of now, our focus is on the commercial vehicles and we want to be among the top global players in the commercial vehicles segment.”
The tie-up of Ashok Leyland & Nissan Motor Company took place in October 2007and Stile is the second vehicle launched from this joint venture after Leyland Comet bus.
